Polanco borders to the north with the municipality of Miengo, to the west with Santillana del Mar and Suances, to the south with Torrelavega and to the east with Piélagos. It is very close, just 15 minutes away from beautiful beaches such as Suances, Cuchia, Usgo, and many more.
Polanco was part of the so-called "Via Agrippa", where pilgrims traveled on their way to Santiago de Compostela, according to the first historical references, which date back to the year 1026.
